Practicums

hr

What makes SEU Ohio Network Campus unique is the combination of academic preparation with practical and valuable hands-on experience in a live environment.  In other words, the practicum serves as a canvas for students to gain a natural application of the craft they are learning in the classroom while they are guided by actual practitioners in the field.  An entrepreneurial pursuit of using hard skills in a real world application is at the heart of our instructional design.  Please visit the following practicum sites.

The practicum is what sets our educational programs apart from other types of programs.  Each semester during a practicum, students get a chance to implement in the field what they have been learning within the classroom.  We have many practicum options.  In addition to those advertised on the site, students can choose any business, non-profit or church organization that fits within their field of study. We believe hands-on, practical training is a crucial part of your education.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside a business or ministry leader in an area you're passionate about.

Where do I complete my training?  You have many options to choose from depending on your degree program and practicum desires for expertise.

Option 1: Study and serve local. This could be your local business.

Perhaps you are already working at a business or have an idea of one you'd like to connect with. We can help set you up for success in learning new skills and developing additional business acumen. You will need to get approval on a supervisor and that person will need to fill out a simple form with contact information and his or her approval to oversee your practicum experience. Second, submit the form to the Campus Director for approval.

Option 2: Study and serve in a business in Columbus or anywhere within the Midwest region.

A. SEU Ohio Network Campus partners with a variety of businesses where students can serve and gain hands-on experience.  If you are doing a business program, we want to connect you to business leaders and entrepreneurs who recognize commerce opportunities and who are catalysts for growth within the marketplace. The business and professional leadership degree offers an approach that combines real world experience with a classroom environment. Students will have opportunities to work in business ventures and will understand the basic functions of launching and sustaining businesses. Our practicums can connect you with successful businesses across Columbus, and there are also a number of non-profit and kingdom-oriented businesses as well. Headquartered in Columbus are companies like Cardinal Health, Nationwide, JPMorgan Chase & Co., American Electric Power, L Brands (Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, La Senza, Henri Bende), Huntington Bank, Alliance Data Retail Services, Abercrombie & Fitch Co., Express Scripts, Wendy’s, and Big Lots, just to name a few. It’s no wonder that Forbes magazine recently named Columbus the number one city for opportunity.
