August 16th marked move in day here at SEU Ohio. The halls are bustling and busy as students rush around the near-campus apartments, getting their beds set up and their rooms all decorated.  The day started bright and early with a new student housing orientation before moving to the apartments.

Second and third year student leaders helped every new student move in, working together as a team and making the family atmosphere overflow.

First year student, Loralynne Rowland, jokes about the help, “Where is my bedding?” when she misplaced her bedding bag.  Ethan DeLeon, a second year student, describes helping as a “true example of team membership and camaraderie.”

Move in day this year was much larger and busier than in years past. Where last year it was more staff helping us move in, this year student leaders took the lead. New to living on her own, Hope Johns says the experience gave her a sense of independence and love.

Hearing from new students that they feel welcome is encouraging to returning students, because we know our efforts to include the freshmen and transfer students are paying off. Our SEU Ohio family is so strong, and we are so over the moon as we watch it grow and welcome new members.

Todd Nyerges, our first student RA,  is excited to pour into his own generation and see the fruit prosper. He looks on this opportunity with exhilaration, expectation, and a surprising amount of maturity for his age. He cannot wait to see where this year leads.

Well, newbies, welcome! Welcome to SEU Ohio! Welcome to “adulthood”. Welcome to our family.

SEU Ohio, let’s hit off year # three.
